The Jayne Shaff Residence in Telluride with Sante Architects. The simple barn form was inspired by the clients Iowa roots. Modified for snow country, this was the first Gold L.E.E.D. home in this historic mining town.

The Beerman Residence in Ophir, Colorado with Sante Architects. Living in this high mountain environment takes simplicity and strength. Get the sun inside each room, shed the snow thoughtfully, and make sure you have a good deck to watch the clouds and marmots roll by.

A study in the local mining vernacular, the Olson Residence in Crested Butte, Colorado fits in-between a few 100 year old houses. The colors of this house change regularly, but the charm and efficiency remain.

The Starnes Residence in Telluride, Colorado with Sante Architects. The clients appreciation for Arts and Crafts style architecture was a strong influence on this project. A shared garden with the neighbors was a way to make two small yards useable and social.

As the adjacent Telluride lots started to develop, the Couture Residence reacted by reaching out and up towards the sun and views of Bear Creek. We extended the house to the south, improved circulation throughout the property, and created a new connection to the outdoors on each level of the house. A mix of open and protected decks provide different opportunities and a great place to fix a bike or read the paper.

A deck addition for the Philipps Residence in Telluride, Colorado on an existing house that had a view that wasn’t fully embraced. One new room, on the outside, makes all the difference.
